Forget the small city hotel I stayed at in Munich, or the large chain hotel I stayed at in Berlin; this time is was in a self-catering cottage in a residentual area (St. Georgen) of Freiburg.

Freiburg Altstadt and Schlossberg

My first port of call was to the Farmer’s Market. This daily market can be found 6 mornings a week in the area surrounding the Münster. Fresh fruit and veg, cheese, eggs, and meats can be bought here.

EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg is located entirely in France. France was the country I arrived in when I landed just before 11 o’ clock local time (10 o’ clock UK time) this morning.

Located within France, about a mile from the Swiss border and not far from Germany either is the EuroAirport which serves Basel (in Switzerland), Mulhouse (in France) and Freiburg (in Germany).
