I write today shortly after sending in my programme application form for the Corinium Radio November 2009 broadcast… yes – even us regulars have to apply for airtime at Corinium Radio!

Looking at this week’s television schedules, I noticed that the next Charley Boorman ‘By Any Means’ series is starting tonight.

I’m writing this evening a few hours after returning home from family parties/gatherings for the second time in a week.

Regular readers will know that I am in my first year of college, and for 2 hours each week I have a journalism lesson. Yesterday, the topic was ‘news values’, and its a topic I found quite interesting; I thought I’d share it with you.

I write today’s update shortly after finishing some maintenance on a section of my website. Its a section that I started building last year, and although its only been online since February, it is in fact the oldest section of the site.

So its the end of my first week at college, and I’m starting to get used to things a bit more now. I think the best thing is that I’m only doing subjects that I want to do.

Its a debate that’s been going on for a couple of years amongst TOGs (listeners to BBC Radio 2’s breakfast programme, Wake Up to Wogan)… What will happen to Radio 2 early mornings once Wogan finally decides to retire?

Its been about 2.5 months since I left school after finishing my GCSE exams and since then I have visited Greece and helped produce a very successful radio broadcast… but I haven’t really done much else!

There’s an interesting question that forms today’s blog post, about the job of newsreaders. Exactly how easy is it? Its a question that Radio 2 presenter Terry Wogan thinks he can answer, and in fact has in his new book (which will be published on September 9).

Already, 8 out of the 12 months in 2009 have passed! Today is September 1st… which means its time for me to publish the website statistics for August.
