A Bit of History…

Apart from my GCSE results (which I received on Thursday), this week has been interesting for me as I have taken a sudden interest in family history. I have been looking at some work one of my cousins has done on Ancestry.co.uk – which allows you to build family trees and access census records.

A Barbequeue with Greek Food

As regular readers of this blog may know, I attend a Greek class on a Friday afternoon. From these classes, a group of locals all with interests in Greece and the Greek language recently got together to form a “Greek group”. We all organise different events connected with Greece and the Greek language.

A Family Birthday

It gets very confusing for me at this time of the year with family birthdays – my Dad, his 2 sisters, their parents (my grandparents) and my sister all have their birthdays within 1 month of each other!

The Greek Version Has Launched

Tory Plans for Education

You may have heard about the new Conservative Party plans for the education system, which include a proposal to get more pupils through “harder A-levels” – maths and physics. As someone who is about to start A-level courses, this is a story I took particular interest in.

Website Statistics for July

Malcolm Laycock Quits Radio 2

After getting back from Greece last week, I found out that Radio 2’s Malcolm Laycock has left the station after 14 years of presenting his “Sunday Night at 10″ programme, following a row over music content in the show.
