Lots of Maths
This is my site Written by Fred Hart on June 11, 2014 – 09:52

I did lots of Maths yesterday. I don’t think I’ve ever used Excel so much!

With my final year grades confirmed, I was able to calculate my degree.

I’ve calculated that I should graduate in November with a 2:1. That’s a 2:1 BA (Hons) degree in Radio Production. So that’s good news. The university is due to officially confirm what degree I will get on June 30th.

Granny is always keen to remind me that “xxx got a Third“, so I think she’ll be happy when I tell her. I’ve managed to get the same degree classification as Mum as well, so it’s good to know that our family isn’t getting less intelligent.

So now that university has finished, and in an effort to give myself something to do beyond sit at the computer applying for jobs, watching DVDs and watching TV, I’ve decided that today I’m going to bake sausage rolls. I’ll eat them for dinner tonight. I took a trip to Waitrose yesterday to get the ingredients.

Housemates Dan and Zoe found my recipe book lying around, and to cut a long story short, one day in the next couple of weeks we’re all going to bake a load of stuff.

We’ve designed a menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner… and written a shopping list which contains at least 8kg of flour, nearly 1kg of butter, 14 eggs, 26 rashers of bacon, lots of olive oil (that’s only because I use olive oil rather than flour for kneading), plus lots of other stuff. I dare not look at how much it’s all going to cost.

It’ll be an interesting challenge: but it beats sitting in front of some sort of screen all day. And it’s an excuse to do something with my housemates.

Quite how it’ll work with the 3 of us all wanting to cook at the same time, I don’t know. I’m very territorial while in charge of a kitchen: I don’t like cooking while someone else is cooking, and I nearly always want to kick my sister out the kitchen at home.

One thing is for sure though: the food will be excellent at the end of it all.

Time to wash a few things up before I start baking.

Bye for now.

FH.
