It’s now April!
This is my site Written by Fred Hart on April 5, 2014 – 08:55

As we enter the 4th month of the year, the end of my 3 years at university is fast approaching – it is now just 7 weeks until the Radio Production Awards ceremony, which will probably be the last time we are together as a group before our graduation ceremony.

Of those 7 weeks, the next 3 are the Easter break – so it’s actually only 4 weeks of university left – only two of which will have lectures in. The rest will be preparing for our Broadcast Law exam, and handing in the remaining assignments.

Leaving university will be difficult… Leaving school & college was easy. I was ready for that. I couldn’t wait to get out of the world of GCSEs and A levels and start studying a subject I was actually interested in. But leaving uni? I don’t yet know where I’m heading next!

What I do have to look forward to is my ‘Grand Tour of Greece’ – that is now just 12 and a half weeks away. I think it is because this is in my diary that I haven’t got upset about leaving uni as two of my housemates have already done. To use one of the Greek food idioms I learned this week – Του ήρθε λουκούμι. (That means “It arrived like Turkish Delight” – and is a phrase used to describe a blessing).

I’ve been looking forward to my trip to Greece since I booked it in early January – and I’ve spent every spare moment planning exactly what I will do; which trains, busses and ferries I need to get in order to be where I need to be – and how much it is going to cost me.

The truth is that inside, I really don’t want to leave uni at all – but I try never let those emotions show too much. I shall just get all my work done over Easter; and then enjoy our last two live shows when we get back, before we all go our seperate ways and I try and win the Lottery so I can move permenantly to Greece. I think a house on Syros sounds like a good idea to me.

Does that sound like a good plan?

I shall have breakfast while I continue to work on the above plan…

Bye for now!
