This week at the University of Gloucestershire it the Students’ Union Elections, and the SU radio station, Tone Radio, has been providing live coverage of each Question Time event.
This afternoon I’m sitting in the refectory at uni listening to Nathan and Dan on the University of Gloucestershire‘s student radio station, Tone Radio.
This evening I’m listening online to Mornings with Genevieve Jacobs on Australian public service radio station 666 ABC Canberra.
After my trip to a radio station for much younger people yesterday, I’m back on home territory today, with this morning’s Weekend Wogan currently playing on the iPlayer.
Normally I avoid 1Xtra at all costs as the music played certainly isn’t my thing. However, David has presented several reggae series on Radio 2 before (and is due to return in the Summer), so I thought I’d see how his new 1Xtra show compares.
It may be the middle of February, but we are heading towards Summer, so the theme on this week’s show is Summer and Greece. For two hours, Fred will be mixing Summer tunes with traditional Greek music.
Despite the name Jazz FM, the station plays much more than traditional jazz music – there is also some soul and blues music in the playlist as well.
This is the first time that I have listened to Double Take, and I quite like it; its well presented, the topics are interesting and at its light-hearted (not too serious in a formal Radio 4 kind of way) and entertaining as well.
Tuning in to his new XFM Breakfast Show reminded me how much I enjoyed his old shows. In fact at times it felt exactly like his 6 Music show.
