Normally I avoid 1Xtra at all costs as the music played certainly isn’t my thing. However, David has presented several reggae series on Radio 2 before (and is due to return in the Summer), so I thought I’d see how his new 1Xtra show compares.

It may be the middle of February, but we are heading towards Summer, so the theme on this week’s show is Summer and Greece. For two hours, Fred will be mixing Summer tunes with traditional Greek music.

This is the first time that I have listened to Double Take, and I quite like it; its well presented, the topics are interesting and at its light-hearted (not too serious in a formal Radio 4 kind of way) and entertaining as well.

Tuning in to his new XFM Breakfast Show reminded me how much I enjoyed his old shows. In fact at times it felt exactly like his 6 Music show.
