Christmas 2010 – TV Highlights
This is my site Written by Fred Hart on December 21, 2010 – 10:49

Morning, all. Day 2 of college closed. I’m sat at home with the radio on, and thinking it might be a good idea to start and finish my Christmas shopping later today.

There’s loads on TV this Christmas. I’ve picked out one or two programmes which I will be watching/have watched so far.

If you’re not really in to TV, I’ll be doing the radio highlights tomorrow.

Saturday 18. December: Folk Music at Christmas (8pm, BBC 4)
Bellowhead, the Unthanks, Lisa Knapp and Thea Gilmore perform seasonal songs of their own, alongside yuletide favourites ranging from folk ballads to carousing dance numbers, at Shoreditch Town Hall.

Saturday 18. December: Wallander (9pm, BBC 4)
1/2: Wallander investigates two apparently unrelated deaths that link to a cyberterrorism plot.

Sunday 19. December: The Apprentice (9pm, BBC 1)
The two finalists are faced with the final task of launching a new premium alcohol drink.

Monday 20. December: Wallander (10pm, BBC 4)
2/2: Wallander investigates two apparently unrelated deaths.

Tuesday 21, December: TOTP2 Christmas Special (6:30pm, BBC 2)
Festive archive performances from Slade, The Pogues, Elton John, Take That and Abba.

Tuesday 21. December: Top Gear (8pm, BBC 2)
The team compare the Mercedes SLS, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS and the Ferrari 458 Italia.

Christmas Eve: Have I Got News for You? (10pm, BBC 1)
A festive edition of the popular news quiz with team captains Paul Merton and Ian Hislop.

Christmas Day: Dr. Who (6pm, BBC 1)
The Doctor must save a crashing spaceship and a miser’s soul – but what lurks in the fog?

Boxing Day: Top Gear: Middle East Special (8pm, BBC 2)
The team attempt to follow the path of the Three Wise Men across the Middle East.

Monday 27. December to Wednesday 29. December: Gordon’s Great Escape (9pm, More 4)
Gordon Ramsay takes the trip of a lifetime, setting out on gastronomic adventures in India and South East Asia. I know they’re repeats, but there’s nothing else worth watching.

New Year’s Eve: Jools’ Annual Hootenanny (11pm, BBC 2)
Jools welcomes in the new year with guests including Kylie Minogue and Toots Hibbert.
