OfCom Reviews the Broadcasting Code

I have just read via RadioToday.co.uk that the UK’s media regulator, OfCom is to review the broadcasting code. The broadcasting code is a set of rules outlining what all TV and radio stations can or can’t broadcast. This is the first review of them since 2005.

Some of the main areas for review in radio and therefore open to debate include content-related promotions and the possibility of venue-sponsored outside broadcasts. Currently, none of them are allowed but a consultation about them has now opened; it closes on September 4 2009.

You can read the full post in detail at on the Radio Today website.
